A promotional poster produced for AKQA for the Cannes Future Lions competition 2011.
The concept involved the competition mascot, who is a pre-existing character, sitting on a throne with references to over 30 famous advertising campaigns built into it.
Everything is 3D with the exception of the two lion heads on either side of the chair and a few very minor details like the spoon in the caviar.
Since the final poster needed to be printed at A0 at 300 dpi, every element had to be created at a very high level of detail. Rendering at that size was a nightmare, as was trying to work on a 6 GB Photoshop file at a decent speed. Hopefully it was all worth while.
